The Annual Board of Directors meeting was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil this year with officers from the US offices joining the executive committee and investors for a celebratory fiscal year ending. Ameximport’s figures were extremely positive although the weakened dollar did negatively effect US sales results. Growth objectives for the year were on target and very agressive new goals were set for the coming year. The BOD was excited about the new division – Domila, but did express a concern over negative economic factors that could hamper sales figures even more.

Ameximport LLC announces the launch of a new division that is dedicated entirely to the furniture and home decor markets. After a great year in 2005 the Ameximport Executive Committee decided that it was time to give the two year old Florida based furniture team the autonomy needed to run its own division. Kristi Coombs, the Marketing Director for the new division together with a team of marketing experts provided the committee with three name options. After a short deliberation and a vote the committee chose “Domila” as the name for the new division and work immediately began to pass all of the brand identity associated with Ameximport furniture and the successful Mac collection to the new name. An all-encompassing Domila catalogue is planned for the first quarter of the year as well as the launch of the new web site which will feature the Furniture and Home Décor collections. This move will serve to strengthen the company’s focus on this market segment while preventing the company’s core competencies as a sales organization, supplier developer and international broker to be diluted in the market.
For the last fifteen years Ameximport has existed under several forms and different names growing from a small one time venture in international trade to its current status as a multinational importer, exporter, distributor and sales organization. Ameximport is a family business at heart and nowhere is this more evident than in the mission statement “... to establish and develop mutually beneficial relationships with customers and clients to create long term partnerships; thereby continuing to expand our family.” The strength of these relationships and the character and honesty with which each member of the company conducts business is as important to the executive committee as the bottom line.
